Getting Started
Brian and I were discussing content for the site and realized that while articles and talks about relatively unknown or cutting edge natural health information is interesting, they don't give new visitors a place to start. That's where this section comes in. Brian has chosen the 5 basic steps people should take to begin making real improvements in their health.
#1: Diagnose and Fixx your Thyroid
Not only is the thyroid critically important to your health, but it is one of the most damaged systems in many Americans. The reason is that the thyroid is negatively impacted by constant low-level stress, exposure to fluoride, bromide and chloride, and a lack of iodine consumption.
Does this sound familiar? Modern society seems to provide a never-ending supply of stress while the mainstream seems to be pushing fluoridated and chlorinated water, and brominated oils and materials at us at every turn. In the meantime, the one halogen that the thyroid desperately needs for proper function, iodine, has been removed from our food supply and labeled dangerous by the medical establishment.
Taking time to diagnose and improve your thyroid can lead to big health gains.

#2: Remove Heavy Metals
Heavy metals are everywhere in modern society: mercury in fillings and vaccinations, lead in paint and food, cadmium in brake dust and manufacturing processes, and aluminum in our water supply, cookware and antiperspirants. The body tries to remove these but our systems have not adapted to the sheer volume of heavy metals that they encounter. As a result, these can build up and start producing problems like cardiovascular disease (lead), brain problems (mercury), cancer (aluminum), or kidney and respiratory problems (cadmium).
Luckily, research over the past few decades has identified some safe and affordable substances that can bind to these heavy metals and carry them out of the body. Removing years and years of metals doesn't happen overnight, but positive results can be obtained from a regular detox program.

#3: Get the Essential Minerals
Consuming the proper amount of essential minerals is critical for good health and many people find that undiagnosed problems vanish once they give the body what it needs.
In the past, our food supply was much less processed and hence contained higher levels of these minerals. Today it's not as easy to consume the necessary amounts and supplementation of the four most critical minerals, magnesium, zinc, selenium and iodine might improve your health for a few dollars a month.
